18 Months

Last week Aiden turned the big 1-8...months, that is! We visited the pediatrician yesterday for his well baby check up, a highly embarrassing affair in which Aiden started screaming loudly and hurling himself at me before the doctor had even taken one full step in to the room. And this shortly after he garnered the attention of the lab waiting area by hysterically crying and trying to throw himself off the scale while the nurse attempted to weigh him. Nice. Apparently this is normal behavior for an 18 month old attending a well baby check up.

Despite all the drama, Aiden passed with flying colors. The pediatrician was impressed with his motor skills and vocabulary. He has more than the 5-10 expected words for boys his age, and while his pronunciation still needs work (paps=please), that will develop better over the next 6 months.

Aiden has a hearty, hearty appetite (often eating as much as I do in a given day) but is still only in the 50th percentile weighing in at 25lbs 8oz. He has obviously inherited his father's metabolism. His height is still hovering around the 75th percentile at 33-1/2 inches. At this same time last year, he weighed 16lbs 11oz and was 27in tall. Crazy how fast babies grow!

Teething is still coming along slowly. Aiden has 7 teeth (only 1 molar) and none on the way as far as I can see. This child is going to be losing his current teeth before all of his baby teeth have come through!

Enough with the boring stats since I know you only come here for pictures!

A messy meal!

A ride around on the toy school bus courtesy of Avery!
