Showers of Blessings

We had originally planned to drive to Kalamazoo and Pittsburgh for the Thanksgiving. We were looking forward to seeing our families and to the two baby showers planned for our little one. The doctor put a halt to our travel plans when I began dilating early, and we were thankful that both of our moms were able to visit us in Richmond for the holidays. But we were still disappointed about missing the fun baby showers. Our family and friends were one step ahead of us, though, and weren't about to let us be disappointed for long!

The week after Thanksgiving, a large box landed on our door step addressed to me. You can imagine my surprise when I opened the box, and diapers, confetti, and gifts started spilling out! My sister-in-laws Holli and Laura had sent us a "Baby Shower in a Box" from our family and friends in Kalamazoo. We had so much fun exploring the contents of the box and opening the presents to find adorable outfits and baby items!

And the fun doesn't stop there! My friend Meg surprised me with a shower in Richmond, which I completely didn't expect since we're still new to the area. We were completely blown away by the thoughtfulness and generosity of our new friends here. We received many more needed baby items and one of my favorite gifts, a gorgeous afghan crocheted by Meg.

We are so blessed! A HUGE THANK YOU to Holli, Laura, Meg, and all our family and friends in Kalamazoo and Richmond! Our baby boy is already loved and cherished by so many!
