So while all of Aiden's little friends are pushing up on all fours and starting to crawl, Aiden has chosen the more sophisticated method of getting around...rolling! Yes, despite our many efforts to prop him up and propel him forward, he drops on his belly and takes off sideways. Not that he can't move forward. Last week, I placed a toy directly in front of him just out of his reach and was trying to coax him to crawl forward. He thought hard for a moment. He rolled one way, then rolled back. He rolled over, then back. And he continued in this vein until he had inched his way forward to reach the toy. How in the world is that easier than crawling?!
Now that Aiden is on the move he can get around fast, so we're having to keep our eyes open! The cats are learning to give Aiden a wide berth when he's laying on the floor. Otherwise he sneaks up on them and starts "petting" them! In fact, the other day I left the room to use the bathroom. While I was gone, Aiden rolled over to the kitten and started chowing down on Shadow's tail. Thankfully our cats are extrememly tolerant of our little mover and shaker!
Here is Aiden at Grammy's house. He started out playing by the toys before taking off and trying to break in to Grammy's entertainment cabinet!
