GardenFest of Lights

After shopping, baking, and cleaning all day, Mommy found herself desperately in need of Christmas cheer last night and dragged (ahem, loving coaxed) the family out in to the freezing cold to visit the GardenFest of Lights at the botanical gardens. Since we're unlikely to have a white Christmas this year, the bitter temperatures certainly helped us feel like Christmas is approaching, and the lights were stunning and arranged in such creative and fun displays. Aiden kept saying, "Oh, a Christmas tree!" and "Oh, a frog of lights! Oh, a fish of lights! Oh, a fider (spider) of lights!" We might have been stiff and frozen when we left, but we had an wonderful time!

Aiden's first visit with Santa since Mommy won't stand in long, mall lines for expensive pictures! Aiden was willing to approach the big jolly man as long as Mommy stood nearby, but any mention of sitting on laps or high fives caused him to immediately backtrack several feet!
And just for fun, the concert pit turned in to a massive, glittering spiderweb...
Merry Christmas!
